Kirsten’s law practice is focused in Personal Injury Law and Insurance Defence Law at Routley & Company Lawyers, having joined the firm in April 2013.

Born and raised in New Brunswick, Kirsten has since lived in various parts of the country. Upon leaving Montréal, Quebec in 1993 with her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and French Language, she lived in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories where she worked in the education system as a French Education Assistant and a Program Support Assistant. She also lived and worked in Inuvik, Northwest Territories as a Special Needs Assistant. In the year before commencing her law degree, Kirsten worked as a 911 operator for the Saanich Police Department in Victoria while finishing her Associate Degree in Criminal Justice at Camosun College. All of this life experience has given her the understanding, direction, and empathy to be a confident trial lawyer.

Kirsten was Called to the Bar in 2004 upon graduating from the University of British Columbia in 2003. After practicing at a mid-sized firm in Kamloops from 2003-2008, Kirsten returned to the Lower Mainland to focus her practice in personal injury. Kirsten is currently a director and the incumbent President for the Abbotsford and District Bar Association. She is also an active member of the Canadian Bar Association, Canadian Defence Lawyers, and the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia. Previously, Kirsten was Past President of the Kamloops Bar Association and on various community boards. Kirsten has had successful experiences at all levels of Court in British Columbia.

Outside of the office, Kirsten is also an experienced university, college and high school basketball official, and has worked in that capacity throughout Canada and parts of the U.S. She also enjoys golfing in fair weather, playing slo-pitch, bicycling, hiking, and other outdoor activities offered in the beautiful Fraser Valley, in addition to travelling and exploring new places.
